Why So Many Bridal Brands Get Turned Away by Factories
Most factories are built for volume. Their cutting, machining and finishing are planned around hundreds of identical units, so a minimum order of 50 or 100 pieces per style protects their margins.
Bridal doesn't work like that. A collection might carry eight styles, and a new gown may only be ordered a handful of times in its first season.
Then there's the construction. A boned bodice, a fully lined silk skirt and hand-beaded detail can take longer to make than a dozen simple dresses. Many factories don't have those skills in-house, and they'd rather say no than learn on your gown. That's how good bridal designers end up with a tech pack nobody will take.
One Gown or Forty: Bridal Manufacturing Without an MOQ
Bridal is the one category where we've removed the minimum entirely. One gown is fine. So is a single sample for a trunk show.
Outside bridal, our production minimum is 4 pieces per style, in one colour across two sizes, and runs go up to 150 pieces per style. If your collection mixes bridal with evening wear, our small batch production page covers the rest.
Why can we do this? Because we're a CMT studio. You supply the pattern, the fabric and the trims, and we supply the skilled hands. No fabric minimum comes from us, because we're not buying your fabric. You can read more about why minimum order quantities exist and why ours stays low.
The Construction Bridal Actually Demands
Bridal and evening wear are where our specialism sits: corsetry, boned bodices, structured and fitted garments, silk, crepe de chine, and beaded fabrics, including hand-beading. Where a piece needs specialist embellishment beyond that, we work with dedicated embellishment factories rather than improvise.

Evening wear is made in the same workroom, with the same skills, so an occasionwear line alongside your bridal collection is no stretch at all.

From Sketch to First Fitting: What Happens in Between
Every bridal project moves through the same stages, and none of them should be skipped.
First comes the pattern. If you already have one, we check it through toiling and fitting before anything is cut in your real fabric. If you don't, our sister studio, Pattern Cutting Studio, develops patterns from scratch.
Next comes the sample. This is where finishes are decided and construction is proved. Our sampling service is built so the sample moves smoothly into production, rather than being a one-off nobody can repeat.
Before any production run, there's a pre-production sample in the actual bulk fabric. Silk from two suppliers can look identical on the roll and behave completely differently once it's cut and sewn. This is the stage that catches it.
Measure twice, cut once. In bridal, we'd rather measure four times.
Why Booking Around Six Weeks Ahead Protects Your Season
A single urgent sample can usually be turned around in 48 hours when it's genuinely needed, at a 25% surcharge on the standard rate. Collections are different. They need booking in advance, around six weeks typically, and every project is assessed case by case.
Bridal seasons are fixed by fashion weeks, trunk shows and wedding dates, and none of them move for a late fabric delivery. Booking early means your slot is held, your fabric is checked before it's needed, and there's room to correct something if a sample shows a problem. Leave it late, and every small issue becomes a crisis.
What Bridal Manufacturing Costs, and What Moves the Number
Sampling starts from £40 per hour + VAT, and pattern revision and toiles from £45 per hour + VAT. Before any project begins, we'll give you a rough estimate. See our full services and pricing.
Production pricing is confirmed once the pre-production sample is complete. That's the point where we know exactly how long your gown takes to make, rather than guessing. What moves the number most is construction complexity, how the fabric behaves, and the amount of handwork. A boned, fully lined bodice with hand-beading costs more than a bias-cut slip dress, and it should.

A 50% deposit is taken upfront. We encourage you to visit the studio for quality control before the final payment, and any adjustments are settled on the final invoice. Our estimates are deliberately conservative, so the final figure usually comes in at or below the quote. And if we make a mistake, we correct it at no charge.
